Strength for Increase

God is a God of increase, but with every elevation comes a demand for greater strength. As He opens new doors and expands your territory, He also calls you to rise in character, discipline, and spiritual depth. Strength for increase is not just about handling more—it’s about becoming more, through His power at work within you. The natural order of life is

Here is a scripture that speaks concerning this: “Hast thou not known? Hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth,  fainteth not, neither is weary? There is no searching of his understanding. He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength;  they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” (Isaiah 40:28-31)

So, what is increase? It means to become or make greater in size or amount; to grow bigger; to be enlarged, expanded, improved upon, and break off limitations.

Strength is the physical or moral power to resist sin; the ability to withstand illness, fatigue, to overcome hardship, peer pressures, to stand against satanic lies. It is the capacity to manage wealth, relationship, and the ability to complete a journey.

As it is with everything on earth given to any child of God, there are limitations you must destroy for you to  experience an increase in life. These limitations come in different phases and their purposes include:

i. Opression

ii. Aborted destiny

iv. Eternity in hell

Limitations can be caused by the following:

  • One’s Parent: In 1 Chron.4:9-10, Jabez cried to God for a change of story and a blessing that will change the trajectory of his life, forever. He did so because his name was blurted out of sorrow by his mother. There are certain people whose lives have not progressed due to words uttered by their parents in difficult times.
  • Sin: Reuben was Israel’s first son. He should have received the special privileges of the oldest son, but he had sexual relations with his father’s slave woman. So those special privileges were given to Joseph’s sons.
  • God: Our iniquities can separate us from God. It can cause the Lord to hide his face from you. In doing so, we are unable to get ahead in life because the One who olds our tomorrow in His hands has His face turned away.

Therefore, to develop strength for increase, you must:

i. Seek for knowledge: Hosea 4:6 reads “My people are perished destroyed,  constrained, because of lack of knowledge.

ii. Acknowledge God through His word: You increase on ever-side by acknowledging God in all your ways.

iii. Wait on God: The book of Isaiah 40:31-31. Lets us in on the benefits of waiting. It reassures us that our strength shall be renewed; we shall mount up with wings as eagles; we shall run, and not be weary; and we shall walk, and  not faint. By waiting on God, we experience speed and we are anointed with the Holy Ghost and power.

iv. Cultivate a relationship with God: Jesus is the vine and we are the branches (John 15:5). To bear fruits and flourish, we must cultivate, build, and nurture a relationship with Him. A man who has a solid relationship with Christ cannot be limited because He constantly abides in Him.

In Psalm 89, God said of David in verses 21 and 22: “With whom my hand shall be established: mine arm also shall  strengthen him. The enemy shall not exact upon him; nor the son of wickedness  afflict him.”

In conclusion, to increase—whether in your career, business, spiritual life, and family—you must be strong to break limitations. Not from lifting weights and a regular attendance at the gym, but one that is forged in the knowledge of God, a deep relationship with Him, and waiting in prayer.
